Siyuan Xu is a collaborative pianist specialising in art song, chamber music, and opera. She has developed an active performing career with singers and instrumentalists across the UK and internationally. Siyuan is an accomplished song pianist. During her studies at the Royal Academy of Music she was awarded the Major Van Someren-Godfery Prize for Accompanist in 2023, recognising her exceptional artistry, musical sensitivity, and understanding of the art song repertoire. Siyuan has been a finalist in several recognised art song competitions, including the Ashburnham English Song Awards in 2024 and 2025, and the Somerset Song Prize in 2026. She has also been selected as a Young Artist by leading UK art song organisations, including Leeds Song (2025) and SongEasel (2026), and was invited to perform in the Oxford International Song Festival Young Artist public auditions. In 2026, she was selected to participate in Lied the Way in Florence, an international programme bringing together exceptional young female musicians from around the world.

Alongside her song work, Siyuan is an active chamber musician, regularly performing with ensembles and instrumental partners throughout the UK. Her recent appearances include recitals at St Pancras Church, the University Church of St Mary the Virgin in Oxford, Holy Sepulchre London (the National Musicians’ Church), St James’s Sussex Gardens, the Brady Arts Centre, Regent Hall, and the British Library; as well as Château Voltaire and Fort LÉcluse in France.

Siyuan has also developed considerable experience as an opera repetiteur. She was repetiteur for Carshalton Opera’s production of Così fan tutte in 2025 and was selected as a Repetiteur Apprentice at Berlin Opera Academy for its 2026 production of Hänsel und Gretel.

Through these engagements, Siyuan has established strong professional relationships within the UK classical music community and continues to develop as a versatile and dedicated collaborative pianist.
